This is an early character development sheet I did in Manga Studio. I know the word "peace" does not match some of the poses. I'm still trying to work that out.
Me and a group of 4 others from the Society of Children's Writers & illustrators won best Chalk mural in the Animation Alley of the Pasadena Chalk Fest. It was the talent and skill of the 4 other qrtist that really made this thing come alive. It was great to be a part of it and a part of this very cool event. My wife and daughter (pictured) came out the second day for support and fun.
I'll be trying my first chalk mural along with about 5 other folks from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators at the 2009 Pasadena Chalk & Art Festival. Looking forward to a lot of fun and still being able to walk after it is all over. By the way this picture is last year's winner, Arlou Somo. My contribution will hopefully be 10% as good as this.
Got a chance to meet Jon Burgerman at this cool event in Culver City and show him some of my work and talk to him about his process. Bad picture, but great day. That's Jon with his back to the camera.
Adapting to new technologies. Don't Twitter while you drive. Wanted to try and do this cartoon using Manga Studio EX (demo). The idea does not read like I had hoped. This is from the demo so the final image is very small. I think I'll have to break down an buy this program.
